Objective of the experiment: To study the magnetic field produced by electric current in a coil.
Theory: When electric current flows through a coil, a magnetic field is generated. The direction of the magnetic field around the coil can be determined using the right-hand rule: curl your right hand fingers in the direction of current flow around the coil, and your thumb points in the direction of the magnetic field.
Procedure:
1. Connect the coil to a power supply as shown in the diagram.
2. Supply a current of 1 A to the coil.
3. Use the magnetic field probe at various positions around the coil.
4. Plot a graph showing the relationship between position and magnetic field value.
